CITY OF DUBLIN
HERITAGE AND CULTURAL ARTS COMMISSION
MINUTES OF: July 10, 2008
The July 10, 2008 meeting of the Heritage and Cultural Arts Commission was called to order at 7:02 p.m.
at the Dublin Civic Center, Dublin, California, by Vice Chair Carr.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Vice Chair Carr led the Pledge of Allegiance.
ROLL CALL
Commissioners Present: Carr, Mack, Lussie, Vonheeder-Leopold
Commissioners Absent: Swalwell, Acuff, Halket
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS - None
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
On a motion by Cm. Vonheeder-Leopold, seconded by Cm. Mack, and by a vote of 4-0-0 with Chair
Swalwell, Cm. Acuff, and Cm. Halket absent, the Commission approved the minutes of June 12, 2008 as
presented.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS - None
NEW BUSINESS
8.1 Heritage Center Annual Report
Ms. Elizabeth Isles, Heritage Center Director, presented the specifics of the item as outlined in the Staff
Report.
Cm. Lussie commended Ms. Isles on progressing the Heritage Center beyond expectations.
Cm. Mack stated that she has heard many parents comment on how pleased they and their children are
with the Heritage Center's programs and activities.
8.2 Approved Goals & Objectives - F'I' 2008-2009
Mr. John Hartnett, Heritage & Cultural Arts Manager, presented the specifics of the item as outlined in the
Staff Report.
Vice Chair Carr asked about qualifications for the potential Art Consultant for the Transit Center. Mr.
Hartnett explained that a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) was sent out and five proposals were received.
He stated that all five applicants would be interviewed, and one would be selected and recommended for
City Council approval.

Cm. Vonheeder-Leopold asked if Lynne Baer was one of the five applicants and Mr. Hartnett said yes.
Vice Chair Carr asked when a selection would be made. Mr. Hartnett anticipated that Staff's selection
would be presented to the City Council on August 19, 2008.
Cm. Mack asked if $250,000 was the total amount funded for the Transit Center art project, and Mr.
Hartnett said yes.

The Commissioners had nothing to report.
