FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Authorized Budget to Purchase and Install Equipment: $89,500
DESCRIP'TION: In Fiscal Year 2000/01 the City completed an audit of all oC the
existing play areas within the City parks. The report evaluated the conformance of the City's play
structures with current safety and accessibility guidelines. Based on the conditions found at each facility,
it was determined that the play equipment at Stagecoach Park was in need of replacement. The 2007/08
Capital Improvement Program includes funds for the replacement of play equipment at Stagecoach Park.
In December 2007, Staff distributed a Request for Proposals (RFP). The RPP sought information from
qualified play equipment representatives on play equipment components to replace the existing system.
One proposal with two options was submitted from Ross Recreation Equipment Company by the January
8, 2008 deadline. Ross Recreation has previously provided play equipment to the City at the following
park locations:
1) Shannon Park
2) Dublin Sports Grounds
3) Bray Commons
4) Alamo Creek Park
5) Mape Park
Staff is seeking input from the Parks and Community Services Commission on a preferrcd alternative that
will be recommended for City Council approval. ln order to assist with the decision-making, the table on
the Following page provides a comparison of the amount and variety for the proposed play equipment.
