A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COIYNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
AMENDING RESOLUTION 96-84 ESTABLISHING FEES
AND CHARGES FOR PUBLIC SERVICES BY ADDING EXHIBIT 9:
FIRE PERMIT, PLAN REVIEW, INSPECTION AND SERVICE FEES
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Dublin adopted Resolution No. 96-84, which
establishes fees and charges for public services provided by the City of Dublin; and
WHEREAS, effective July 1, 1997, the City of Dublin will provide fire protection, prevention and
emergency response services, which services have previously been provided by the Dougherty Regional
Fire Authority; and
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin will provide all of these fire services through a contract with the
Alameda County Fire Departmem (ACFD); and
WHEREAS, on May 20, 1997, the City Council of the City of Dublin adopted Ordinance No. 12-
97, which adopted the Uniform Fire Code and prescribed regulations governing conditions hazardous to
life and property in the City of Dublin; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 12-97 provided that the City Council may, by resolution, establish fees to
deft-ay the City's reasonable costs for fire permits, Plan review and inspection services; and
WHEREAS, on May 20, 1997, the City Council of the City of Dublin adopted Ordinance No. 13-
97, which established the weed abatement program, including the authority to charge private property
owners for weed abatement if property owners do not, after proper notice, abate weeds themselves; and
WHEREAS, the City Council may also establish fees to cover costs related to certain types of
incident response, as well as duplication of fire reports and photographs and other fire related services; and
WHEREAS, under the contract for fire services with ACFD, the City will compensate ACFD for
all costs related to the provision of fire suppression, prevention, and emergency response services in the
City of Dublin; and
WHEREAS, ACFD has established fees which cover the cost of providing services for fire permits,
plan review and inspection and other fire related services; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the City of Dublin to implement the ACFD fee schedule for these
services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does hereby
adopt EXIq~IT 9 - FIRE PERMIT, PLAN REVIEW, INSPECTION AND SERVICE FEES, as attached
hereto and by reference made a part hereof, which shall be incorporated with Resolution No. 96-84 as
mended.

*The permit fee is an estimate based on the cost of basic service, including, but not limited to, office reviews and two (2)
field inspections. The actual amount charged is based on the actual time spent. The plan review and inspection fee
covers the cost of basic services, including, but not limited to, review and approval of plans, two (2) field inspections and
consultant fee for construction plan,sprinkler plan and calculation review. Extra cost incurred due to system failure,
unusual circumstances, excessive time required, missed appointments and personnel expense shall be billed at the rate of
$80 per hour in 1/2 hour increments in addition to the basic service fee.
**Fire permits that are not covered by an annual permit shall submit application for permit required for each occurrence.
In addition to the fire permit, fireworks displays must have one engine company on standby during the event at the
perimitee's expense. Event time includes 1/2 hour before and 1/2 hour after the actual display.
