Bortolotto & Co., Inc. 2009-2010 Annual Street Overlay Program (CIP No. 969101) and Eastern Dublin Arterial Improvements (CIP No. 960004) Prepared By: Steven Yee, Public Works Manager EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: A contract was awarded by the City Council on May 4, 2010 to G. Bortolotto & Co., Inc. for the Annual Street Overlay Program (CIP No. 969101). On June 1, 2010 the City Council approved an additional appropriation and change in the scope of work to address a storm drain pipe repair on Wineberry Way and to complete paving on Central Parkway between Lockhart Street and Fallon Road. The Public Works Department has determined that the work under this contract is now complete. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The total amount authorized by the City Council for the contract including contingencies and Contract Change Order No. 1 was $597,856.91. Bortolotto & Co., Inc, and authorize the release of retention after 35 days if there are no subcontractor claims. Page 1 of 2 ITEM NO. 3 - ~ Submitted By Reviewed By Revie By Public Works Director Administrative Services Director Assistant City Manager DESCRIPTION: The 2009-2010 Annual Street Overlay Program consisted of removing and replacing failed asphalt concrete (AC) pavement to a minimum depth of 4 inches on residential streets and 6 inches on collector/arterial streets, resurfacing the street with a minimum 1 %2-inch overlay of AC, and re-striping pavement markings. This Program resurfaced the following streets: STREETS INCLUDED IN THE 2009-2010 ANNUAL STREET OVERLAY PROGRAM Mulber Place Lewis Avenue Soleado Court S uirrel Creek Circle Mulber Court Beckett Wa Santo Court Quail Creek Circle Wineber Wa Au usta Court Kolb Place Willow Creek Circle Locust Court Via Za ata Bluebell Wa New ort Court Locust Place Za ata Court Lancaster Road C ress Court Re io Court Juarez Lane Also included in this year's Program was the repair of approximately 60 lineal feet of 12-inch reinforced concrete storm drain pipe on Wineberry Way, which was necessary before the street could be overlaid. In addition, the paving of Central Parkway between Lockhart Street and Fallon Road was also included in the Program In order to allow traffic flow along Central Parkway. This additional work was covered by a budget change and Contract Change Order No. 1 as approved by the City Council on June 1, 2010. Staff has inspected the work completed under this Contract and recommends that the City Council accept the improvements. NOTICING REQUIREMENTS/PUBLIC OUTREACH: Public Noticing is not required.
