EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The City Council will confirm the Mayor's appointments to the Community Development Block
Grant and Community Support Grant Subcommittee.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The Fiscal Year 2011-2012 financial impact of the grant program is currently unknown. The
City Council has authorized Staff to move forward with the Fiscal Year 2011-2012 grant process
to ensure compliance with Federal CDBG timelines.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council confirm the Mayor's appointments to the Community
Development Block Grant and Community Support Grant Subcommittee.

DESCRIPTION:
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Community Support Grant
Subcommittee was created in October 2009 with the purpose of providing policy guidance and
direction to staff related to the annual CDBG and Community Support Grant programs. This
subcommittee is also responsible for reviewing grant proposals and making recommendations
to the full City Council regarding funding. The subcommittee, comprised of two City
Councilmembers, meets on an as needed basis, with most of the work taking place annually
between December and February.
A process orientation for the new subcommittee members will be held the week of December
13, 2010.
NOTICING REQUIREMENTS/PUBLIC OUTREACH:
• Grant application period opening published in local newspaper on November 4,
November 18, and December 5, 2010
• Grant application period opening announcement and applications on City website
• Correspondence announcing opening of grant application period mailed October 29,
2010
• Postcards announcing application workshops mailed November 5, 2010.
