Call to Order
Chairperson Baron called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m.
Roll Call:
Committee Members: Mariy Bazon, Diane Bonetti, and Delilah Vanderpool.
Absent: Eddie Jo Mack and Tim Pedersen.
Parks and Community Services Commission Liaison Present: Rich Guarienti
Staff Present: Paul McCreary; Assistant Director of Parks and Community Services Department; Anna
Hudson, Recreation Coordinator

"Coffee with the Advisory Committee"
On November 4, the Dublin Senior Center Advisory Committee hosted a special meeting to informally
gather input from customers about the programs and services at the Senior Center. There were 22
seniors in attendance in addition to the Advisory Committee Members.
Staff gave a brief sununary of the activities and the special events offered at the Dublin Senior Center.
A copy of the goals and mission of the Senior Center Advisory Committee were also made available.
The group was split up into three groups; each group was led by one of the three Advisory Committee
Members present. Each discussed a series of questions to gather information and stimulate
conversation. The groups were given approximately 45 minutes to answer the questions.
Staff recorded the response and the ideas that evolved. The following are responses were shared by the
groups.
1) What do you value most about the Dublin Senior Center? Please explain those exceptional
moments and existing programs and services which give energy to the Senior Center and best serve
the needs of patrons.
a) Front doors open automatically
b) Greeters at the front desk; their smile/attitude positive (2)
c) Well maintained, State of the art community center
d) Warm and friendly atmosphere and greetings

3) Imagine it is five years from now and the Senior Center is even better than it is today. What would
be different?
a) Better transportation to the Senior Center by Wheels (2)
b) Attracting more seniors who haven't been here
c) Personally inviting people to the Senior Center
d) Trips and tours return - reinstate van trips
e) Reinstate the Las Positas exercise classes
f) Fresh lunches again

b) Newspaper (non-computer communications) as this is mostly used by older adults

f) Reinstate outdoor concerts
g) Find other revenue to offer more programs.
