DESCRZPTION The Dublin Swim Center opened for the 1992
season on April 20 during S~ring Break, and closed on September 8, after
Labor Day.
Recreational S1s~immi.ng was offered:
April 20 - 24 Daily 1:00 - 5:00 P.M.
April 25 - May 31 Weekends 1:00 - 5:00 P.M.
June 1- September 7 Daily 1:00 - 5:00 P.M.
Family Nights we.re offered:
June 1- September 7 Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:00 - 9:00 P.M.
Recreational: Swimming was very popular this year. The average daiZy
attendance for both the Recreational Swimming and Family Night programs
was 231. This was an increase over last season's average daily attendance
of 194. On several occasions during the season the Swim Center reached
maximum capacity. The total season attendance was 26,791.

Attached is a registration analysis for the Instructional Program.
Total enrollment for this season was 1,903. This was an increase of 293
students over last season. Approximately 15.5p of the participants were
non-residents which was a 4% increase over the 1991 season non-resident
registration.

Safety Training Classes were popular this season as well. These classes
prepare participants for volunteer and staff positions in aquatic programs.
Registration for the Emergency Water Safety and Basic Water Safety courses
was 22, 10 were enrolled in the ~ater Safety Aide course, and b students
enrolled in the Lifequard Training Course.
Other programs and activities offered at the Swim Center this past season
included:

Junior Aquatic Water 5afety (JAWS) Private Pool Rentals
Adult Lap 5wimming was offered from 12;00 noon t~ 1:00 p.m. daily and from
6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The total summer attendance for
lap swimming was 354. This was an increase over last season's total of
273.
Water Aerobics was offered on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:00-8:00 p.m.,
as well a~ Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Total season
attendance was 440. Last season's total was 398.
The Aquatic Day Camp Program, which was new this season, proved to be very
successful. Three one-week sessions were scheduled from Monday through
Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Participants received instruction in
swimming, water safety, diving, and synchronized swimming. Registration for
the Aquatic Day Camp totalled 47. Due to demand, staff plans to expand
this program next season.
The Junior Aquatic Water Safety (JAWS) program was offered for a third
season to youths between 12 and 15 years of age. The teens assisted the
Swim Center staff with lessan instruction, lifeguarding, and general office
work. Eighteen youths participated in the program and volunteered a total
of 1,220 hours at the Swzm Center. This was a big increase over last years
program in which 12 teens participated and volunteered a total of 491
hours.
For a fourth season, the Recreation Department sponsored a swim team to
compete in the Tri-Valley Swim League. A total of 64 swimmers participated
in the prograrn which concluded with the Champianship Meet for all league
members held at the Dublin Swim Center. Approximately 550 swimmers
participated in the Championship Meet, and over 2,000 spectators were in
attendance.
The Summer Recreation Staff and Swim Center Staff once again combined
efforts to offer the second annual "Water Carnival" on July 17.
This year's theme was "The Greek Ol~mpiad" and many activities were offered
including face painting, a sponge toss, water war zone, bobbing for apples,
water relays, splash contest and a shark hunt. The event was concluded
with a comical synchronized swimming exhibition performed by the Swim
Center staff. The event attracted 395 participants.
On July 4th, the Swim Center again f~atured a special celebration which
included activities such as water relays, a splash contest, and a scavenger
hunt. The facility was patriotically decorated and staff wore "Uncle Sam"
costumes. The celebration was enjoyed by approximately 100 participants.
The Birthday Party program was very popular this year. Thirty (30) parties
were scheduled this season which was an increase of 18 parties over last
year.
A total of 4 private rentals were scheduled this season. In additian, the
pool was rent~d almost ~eekly during the season for Scuba instruction.
