Reqular Meetinq - May 6, 1991
A regular meeting of the City of Dublin Planning Commission was held
on May 6, 1991, in the Dublin Civic Center Council Chambers. The
meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Commissioner Burnham,
Chairperson.

Present: Commissioners Barnes, Burnham, North, Rafanelli and Zika;
Laurence L. Tong, Planning Director; Charlie Haims, Planning Intern;
and Gail Adams, Planning Secretary

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG
Cm. Burnham led the Commission, Staff, and those present in the pledge
of allegiance to the flag.
ADDITIONS OR REVISIONS TO THE AGENDA
None
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
The minutes of April 15, 1991 were approved.

SUBJECT: Introduction of New Planninq Clerk Typist/Receptionist -
Anqie Stepp
Mr. Tong introduced the new Planning Clerk Typist/Receptionist, Angie
Stepp, who was replacing Debbie Farrance. She has over 10 years of
experience and has previously worked for the City of San Ramon and the
Alameda County Housing & Community Development Division.
The Commission welcomed Ms. Stepp.

PUBLIC HEARINGS
SUBJECT: PA 91-018 Marg-ett Art & Craft Fair Conditional Use Permit
req_uest to allow two temporar_y Art and Craft Fairs at the
Dublin Plaza Shopping Center (July 18-21, 1991 and December
5-8, 1991) located at 7117-7333 Reqional Street
Cm. Burnham opened the public hearing and asked for the staff report.

Mr. Charlie Haims presented the staff report to the Commission. Staff
~ recommended approval of the Conditional Use Permit.
Marietta Lewis, Applicant, indicated that she had no problems with the
conditions and would abide by all the rules and regulations.
Cm. Burnham closed the public hearing.
On motion from Cm. Barnes, seconded by Cm. North, and with a vote of
5-0, the Commission adopted
RESOLUTION NO. 91 - 026
APPROVING PA 91-018 MARG-ETT ART AND CRAFT FAIRS - MARIETTA LEWIS
{APPLICANT) AND DUBLIN PLAZA SHOPPING CENTER MERCHANTS ASSOCIATION
(SPONSOR) CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT REQUEST TO ALLOW TWO ART AND CRAFT
FAIRS AT THE DUBLIN PLAZA SHOPPING CENTER
NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Cm. North referred to a previous approved Conditional Use Permit for
the 20/20 Recycle Center located at the Payless/Albertson shopping
center. He thought that the Applicant had indicated there would be no
newspaper bins located on this site; however, he had noticed that
there were newspaper bins at the center.
Cm. North also noted that the recycling domes had not been moved in
front of the trailer as the Commission had requested.
Mr. Tong indicated that Staff would look into the matter.
OTHER BUSINESS
Mr. Tong indicated that the Commission would not be having a regular
meeting on May 20th. Instead, there would be a joint City Council,
Planning Commission, and Park & Recreation Commission Study Session to
review and discuss the preliminary Park & Recreation Master Plan for
Dublin. The meeting would be held Monday, May 20th, at 7:30 p.m. in
the Regional Meeting Room.
PLANNING COMMISSIONERS' CONCERNS
Cm. Barnes indicated that there were "For Sale" vehicles being parked
on the vacant lot, north of the Sherwin Williams facility. There were
also real estate signs posted for "Heritage", "Bent Creek" and "Shadow
Creek" developments, which were located in San Ramon.
Mr. Tong noted the concerns.
Cm. Burnham asked if there was an emergency maintenance number that
could be made available to the Commission in case of water leaks, etc.

• Mr. Tong indicated that he was unsure if a number was available. The
Public Works Department and their maintenance crew usually took care
` of these matters; however, he would look into it.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:50
p.m.
