The Oversized Vehicle Parking Committee will work with City Staff from Police Services, Traffic Engineering and Code Enforcement to develop recommendations to the City Council concerning the issues surrounding on-street parking of oversized vehicles. Advertisements were placed in local newspapers and also on the City's Website. Eight applications were received by the deadline. Applicants include: Bob Abbey, Robert Branaugh, Gaylene Burkett, Bill Burnham, Beth Howard, Chris Moiler, Lisa Trujillo and Samuel B. Wills. Mayor Lockhart recommends that in order to get a good cross-section of input, that each of the applicants be appOinted to the Committee. I am not a resident of Dubl in, but am a property owner in East Dublin, 1881 Collier Canyon Road. was in attendence at the council meeting the. night this issue was discussed. I was not there for this item. I was there for East Dublin ipsue. After listening to the discussion, I / thought I may have some ideas to share in the resolution. I am a motorhome / owner, belong to the Good S~m Club and Family Motor Home Association. ! I represent a Chapter of Go~d Sam at the Nor-Cal State Committee. ! I have been involved in previous discussions on this issue and most ! R.V. owners aren't in agreement with me on this issue. I am a retired General Engineering Contracgor. I am interested on being on this Committee because I want to make the commercial and residential neighborhoods in Dublin a safer place for our residents. I live next door to a house that parks a 30-foot motor home in front of their house which is within one house in both directions from comers. This makes backing in and out of driveways a safety hazard for all concerned. At one time, I owned a large motor home and I can relate to the problems of not being able to find a suitable place to store a large size vehicle in Dublin. I have been on both sides of the coin. Due to my position of working in the CommuniW Development Department for the City of Dublin, I would like to participate on this Committee, however, I would not volunteer to be a lead spokesperson. Also, if the City_ Manager or'the Community_ Development Director feels that it would not be appropriate for me to sit on this Committee, I would respectfully withdraw my aPplication.
