The film will be presented outdoors on a 32 ft. screen. No pets allowed. Admission: FREE Dublin Poetry Slam Saturday, September 10, 2011 6:00 - 8:00pm Calling All Poets! Calling All Slammers! Calling All Poetic Styles! The Poetry Battle has hit the Dublin area and we need you! Come join us for our first Poetry Slam hosted by Dublin's very own Poet Laureate, Jonnie McCoy-Howell. Bring out your best (family friendly) poems and enjoy an exciting atmosphere among other poets. Entry fee at the door includes refreshments. Admission: $5perperson Harvest Festival Saturday, October 22, 2011 Festival: 3:00 - 8:00pm The festival includes craft-making workshops, a petting zoo, wagon rides and storytelling in an alluring 19th-century setting. Learn about Dublin's history as you ride on a tractor-drawn wagon through the Pioneer Cemetery. Visit a petting zoo and learn about Dublin's ranching past. The Hay Barn will have all the supplies you need to make a scarecrow to take home. A storyteller will tell not-so- spooky-stories inside Old St. Raymond Church. Visit the Kolb Historic House Museum and the Murray Schoolhouse Museum to experience Dublin's past. Bring your appetite and enjoy hot dogs, caramel apples, kettle corn and fresh cider and other harvest goodies. Admission is FREE; $5 wristband for all festival activities Harvest Moon Barn Dance: 7:00 - 9:00pm Come dance under twinkling lights, shining stars and an amber'harvest moon' In the 1870 Sunday School Barn. The Dublin Bluegrass Jam Band will provide toe-tapping music for everyone. Chairs will be available for those who would like to watch the musicians, chat and relax too. Arrive early and have dinner at the festival. Barn Dance: $5 perpeaon Goldilocks & The Three Bears Puppet Show Saturday, November 19, 2011 1:00 -1:30pm A delightful production of a classical tale with some modem twists and adventures. This show is perfect for children ages 6-10 years, and parents will also enjoy the fun escapades of the three bears as they try to figure out what or who has broken into their house. A fun, fast-paced show of 30 minutes with lots of interaction with the audience. This show is guaranteed to keep all the kids in the audience on the edge of their seats. Admission Is Off; $5 wristband for all festival activities Celebrating African American Poetry Saturday, January 14, 2012 2:00 - 4:00pm Take a stroll down memory lane to the Civil Rights Era of Poetry. We will present styles of Poetry from the early 1940s to 1910, and discuss how Poetry impacted a nation. Special Guest Poets, Folk and Storytellers will deliver a memorable performance that you won't want to miss. We will have an Open Mic following the event, so bring your poems to share. The showcase Includes previews for upcoming productions and information on how to get involved with the various projects put on by Arcbound and its affiliates. Appropriate forages sixteen to adult.
