Staff would also, like to offer special recognition to Dublin Cyclery and Valley Spokesmen
Bicycle Touring Club. Dublin Cyclery was a collaborating organizer of the East Dublin BART
Bike to Work Day Energizer Station and helped table the event. Dublin Cyclery also helped the
City of Dublin co-host the Flat Tire Repair Clinic and Bike to Market events. In January 2011
Valley Spokesmen Bicycle Touring Club donated funds to the City of Dublin for the bicycle
safety program; a portion of the funds were used to purchase bicycle helmets distributed at the
Bike to School event to students who were in need of properly fitting helmets.
Staff recommends that, per Government Code Section, 37354, the City Council formally accept
the contributions and recognize the sponsors by presenting them with certificates of
appreciation for supporting Bike to Work Day and National Bike Month.
