DESCRIPTION:
The City's Youth Advisory Committee is comprised of middle and high school students that are
appointed to annual terms by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council. The most recent
term ended May 31, 2011.
The general responsibilities of the Youth Advisory Committee as outlined in the Bylaws and
Rules of Procedure are to:
• Provide input on youth services and programming to the Parks and Community Services
Commission, City Council and to City Staff.
• Address issues that affect youth in the community.
• Assist with the promotion and implementation of youth activities.
• Generate an annual report on the progress of the Youth Advisory Committee.
Advisory Committee Members will make a presentation to the City Council on the various
Advisory Committee goals, activities and accomplishments for the term.
NOTICING REQUIREMENTS/PUBLIC OUTREACH:
A copy of the Staff Report was distributed to the Youth Advisory Committee.
