Sir,
We ~ to if for the following reasons:
1. When we bought the house, with understanding that it will be semi-public. We were told by
builders that there will be a senior center or other commercial activity will be coming up. Their may
be an office center ete. With the change, we fear our property values may go down further.
2. At present there are 2 schools on one side and there will be commercial center on the other side.
This may cause il~~etlc issues with the area. The symmetry of tbe area will be distorted. As scho.ol
is single storey 12-15' in height and this lot is sitting at higher elevation (15~20' from Gleason road),
therefore when houses are built at 30' height, they pop up within the area as some comic buildings.
which I am sure, you will not like to have. This space should not have allY buildinlJ more than single
5tOl}' or 12-15 feet in heil!ht
3. If City can change one area, it may change in future other commercial areas in the neighborhood,
increasing congestion. This will not be consistent with the areas as originally planned.
4. We lose our views of Hills form our houses.
S. At present Lennar has built 119 homes in the neighborhood. Unfortunately they have not built
any area for communif3' use or for kids to play. At present kids are forced to p1ayoI) the street. with
Cars moving on the roads. I fear that it may cause unavoidable injuries to the, kids playing and harm
the families living in the area. I believe, when you approve an apartment building with 100 or so
appts. You male sure that they have some area for park ete, where kids can play inside the
apartment complex. You also make sure that the complex has a community facility.
6. If City council decides to approve this change of "Land use", then we strongly believe, that they
must advise Lennar to make only single story homes and keep one Lot for neighborhood use as
common facm~. which should also be allowed for Sonata community.
Therefore keep the present Land use as Public I Semi Public and encourage either building of
community center or similar public use. You can have a teen center, Adult center, Senior center or
ven some other public use for this space.
Th.y
