HomeMy WebLinkAbout3.2 Student Rep P&CS Commission STAFF REPORT CITY CLERK File #110-30 CITY COUNCIL DATE:June 5, 2012 TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers FROM: Joni Pattillo, City Manager SUBJECT: Mayor's Appointment of Student Representative to Parks and Community Services Commission Prepared by Paul McCreary, Parks and Community Services Director EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The Mayor is recommending the appointment of Dublin High School student, Tristan Elias, as the Student Representative to the Parks and Community Services Commission for the term of July 2012 through June 2013. FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council confirm the Mayor’s appointment of Tristan Elias as the Student Representative to the Parks and Community Services Commission for the term of July 2012 through June 2013. Submitted By Reviewed By Director of Parks and Assistant City Manager Community Services DESCRIPTION: The current term of the Student Representative to the Parks and Community Services Commission will expire on June 30, 2012. During the month of April 2012, recruitment efforts took place to encourage high school students to apply for the position for the upcoming term of office. A total of five applications were received. The Mayor recommends the appointment of Tristan Elias as the Student Representative to the Parks and Community Services Commission for the term commencing in July 2012 and expiring in June 2013. ITEM NO. 3.2 Page 1 of 2 NOTICING REQUIREMENTS/PUBLIC OUTREACH: The position for the Student Representative to the Parks and Community Services Commission was advertised at the local high schools, on the City’s website, and press releases were sent to the Tri-Valley Herald, Valley Times, and CTV.
