In November 1997, the City Council approved funds to complete a study of the Swim Center and develop ,f'-a Master Plan for improvements. The Swim Center Master Plan, which was approved by the City Council m April 1998, identified the deck replacement project and water slide installation as high priorities. The Fiscal Year 1998-99 Budget included funds for the replacement of the deck and related fixtures at the Dublin Swim Center. The FY 1999-2000 Budget includes funds to purchase and install the waterslide. At the November 17, 1998 meeting of the Dublin City Council, the Council directed Staff to select a double-loop waterstide that is 100' long With a start tower that is approximately 15' high. Staff has worked with the architectural firm of Arch Pac, Inc., to select three manufacturers who build slides that meet the Council's criteria. A copy of the site plan and slide design is attached. The plans and technical specifications have been prepared by Arch Pac and have been reviewed and approved by the City's Public Works and Building Departments. All of the related work for the waterslide, except for the electrical connection for the pump, will be included in this contract. Since the electrical connection for the pump will come from the mechanical building it will be included in the Mechanical Building Renovation project, which will be ready for bid in January. The necessary piping for the slide was installed in Phase I of the deck replacement project. Staff recommends that the City Council authorize advertising of Contract 99-i5 for bids.
