Division Chief/Fire Marshal Assistant City Manager
BACKGROUND:
At the July 17, 2012 City Council meeting, the City Council considered amendments to the City’s
Fireworks ordinance. During the City Council discussion on the matter, the issue of the
reinvestment of proceeds from the fireworks booth back into the community was raised. Staff
was directed to bring back proposed modifications to the existing fireworks ordinance.
Based on that direction, Staff has prepared the following proposed addition to Section 5.24.060
of the Dublin Municipal Code:
D. Each such organization must serve, in whole or in part, the Dublin community and its
residents, and must pledge to reinvest a portion of the proceeds from its sale of fireworks for the
benefit of the Dublin community and its residents.
ITEM NO. 7.1
