recognizing those officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice while on duty.

The Honorable Mayor and Members of the Dublin City Council
100 Civic Plaza
Dublin, CA 94568
Dear Mayor and Council Members,
For the past twenty years, the Tri- Valley Knights of Columbus have sponsored a dinner
honoring the first responders from our area. Our goal is to host a unique awards dinner
experience that clearly expresses our admiration and thanks to the police officers and fire
fighters from Dublin, Pleasanton, San Ramon, Danville, Livermore, Contra Costa and Alameda
counties and the California Highway Patrol.
The awards dinner is called the Red, Blue and Gold Banquet and is held at the Blackhawk Auto
Museum. Scott's Seafood caters the dinner and all first responders and their families are invited
to this semi- formal event.
Besides honoring the top Police Officer and Fire Fighter from each organization, at next year's
event scheduled for April 26, 2013, we plan a special ceremony honoring fallen officers and
firefighters who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our communities over the past twenty
years.
Normally the Knights provide free tickets to all award winners, speakers and honorees.
However, we are finding it extremely difficult to continue providing free tickets with the
escalating costs for the event. The Knights would respectfully request that the Dublin Council
Members consider becoming a sponsor for the event and donate $1000 which would go to
offset the cost of providing tickets to Dublin Honorees, their families and other attendees.
Your assistance will ensure that the Red, Blue & Gold Banquet remains a unique experience for
the Dublin first responders and their families. Please note that any excess funding will be
donated to the 100 Club for fallen Fire Fighters and Police Officers
Sincerely,
Ken Rief
