HOLIDAY EVENT OVERVIEW Holiday Craft Boutique Dublin Senior Center Saturday,November 17 10:00 PM-3:00 PM Now in its second year,the Holiday Craft Boutique has increased the number of vendors from 40 to 60 for this year's event.The boutique features a wonderful selection of original handmade arts and crafts,offering a variety of unique items for holiday gift giving. The Holiday Craft Boutique is produced by the Dublin Senior Center and the Dublin Senior Foundation.Entrance to the Boutique is free. Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Fountain Plaza Area,Dublin Civic Center Thursday,November 29 7:00 PM This is the 29th year the City has hosted a tree lighting celebration to mark the beginning of the holiday season.This year's event will feature the Dublin Unified School District Children's Choir and the lively sounds of the Wells Middle School Jazz Band.Refreshments will be served after the performance.We are also expecting a very special visit from Santa Claus himself. The event will culminate with the lighting of the Community Tree.This event is free. Holiday Faire Heritage Park&Museums Saturday,December 1 2:00 PM 6:00 PM The Holiday Faire at Heritage Park and Museums will offer families a festive afternoon full of holiday cheer. Visitors will experience a rustic holiday outing while shopping for handmade gifts and making traditional holiday crafts.The Merrie Olde Christmas Carolers,dressed in Victorian costume,will perform traditional carols throughout the park.An Old-Fashioned St.Nick will arrive on a jingle-bell wagon at noon.Families will have the opportunity to visit with Old St.Nick and take photos throughout the day.Guests are also welcome to tour the Murray Schoolhouse and the Kolb House which will be decorated for"A Farm Christmas Morning." The Faire includes both free and for purchase activities.Wristbands for Faire activities can be purchased at the event for$5.00, and includes a jingle- bell wagon ride, holiday craft making, and tours of the Murray Schoolhouse and Kolb House Museums. Breakfast with Santa Shannon Community Center Saturday,December 8 Seatings: 8:30 AM,9:45 AM,and 11:00 AM Families are invited to enjoy a delicious hot pancake breakfast served with sausage, fruit, coffee, and juice. Photos with Santa will also be available for a donation benefitting the Dublin High School Irish Guard and Band. Each seating can accommodate 160 guests. This popular event has sold out in prior years. Ticket prices are $10 for residents and $12 for non-residents. Holiday Tea Heritage Park& Museums Saturday,December 15 1:00 PM A country tea lunch, held inside the charming Kolb Sunday School Barn,will begin with scones, lemon curd and a hot pot of tea followed by finger sandwiches, cheese and an indulgent dessert. The food for the event will be catered this year by the Dublin High School Culinary Program. Museum volunteers will provide wait service for the event, ensuring that the eclectic array of china cups is always filled with tea. Following the tea, guests may tour the Kolb House, decorated for"A Farm Christmas Morning."Due to the popularity of this event in 2011, seating was doubled from 40 to 80. The price for this event is $25 per person and has already sold out for this year. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Parks and Community Services Commission receive the report. 2 of 2
