The cooperation and help that we received from the staff was remarkable, to say the least, from Micki Cronin, Anna Hudson, Melanie Triontos, and a special thanks to James Montgomery for the enthusiastic help in the kitchen. The members of the Foundation are constantly amazed at the constant support that we receive from the Senior Center Staff, and we are most grateful. Thank you. Al Edge, Dublin Senior Foundation, President October Testimonials from the Fallon Middle School Robotics Team Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity to come into the Senior Center and perform our skit(pertaining to Falls Prevention). We learned much about the elders and now we can go ahead and change our(cane)design around to be suitable for them. We will definitely try to come back to explain our final solution after the competition if we have time. We are now keeping in touch with the seniors who gave us input on how our design should be tweaked a little. November Testimonial from a Middle School Robotics Team First of all, our robotics team just wanted to say thank you for your help with our visit to the senior center. We won first place in our competition and we couldn't do it without your help. Thank you, November Testimonials from a Boomer 1 just want to let you know how I've come to appreciate the Senior Center and the wonderful staff. For years 1 told myself that 1'd never go to the senior center, those few times I came through the entrance 1 did not feel at ease. Even at sixty-eight I don't consider myself an old senior citizen. It was not the age so much, I just felt uncomfortable here. Last February, I was forced into semi-retirement and decided to startup my old business. Glancing through Dublin Doings 1 saw that the center was offering a writing class. As a private investigator and want-to-be writer, I'm always interested in technical classes. Was I ever surprised? The class presented by julaina Kleist is actually a creative writing class. The friendliness and high level of involvement by julaina and all the class members made me feel right at home.As I became more involved with the center, 1 began to feel a level of comfort. The Senior Center is the place I go to work in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The WiFi allows me to instantly do the fact-check research a writer constantly finds necessary. ATTACHMENT 2 (1 OF 2) Page 5 of 6 With many and constant distractions, 1 get very little writing done at home. Sitting in the library area of the Senior Center, I am able to write two to three thousand words during each three to four hour visit. 1 work here two or occasionally three times a week. Throughout the three to four hours I work, people are coming and going for visits, reading, or to use the WiFi. Elderly folk meet friends, chat, enjoy the best coffee in town, relax over a book, or just watch television. Some days three or four people come and go,some days three or four an hour come and go. The reticence I felt about visiting has been replaced with a warm sense of comfort 1 never expected. My Thanks to you, your staff, and the city. George C., Dublin ATTACHMENT 2 (2 OF 2) Page 6 of 6
