Permit for a Community Facility (Place of Worship) at 6759 Sierra Court,

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Applicant submitted an application for a Conditional Use Permit for a Community Facility to
operate a meditation center within a portion of the Sierra Trinity Business Park. However, the
Applicant and the property owner have been unable to reach an agreement on the terms of the
lease; therefore, the Applicant is requesting that this item be continued to a date uncertain.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the Planning Commission: 1) Receive Staff presentation; 2) Open the
public hearing; 3) Take testimony from the public; 4) Close the public hearing; and 5) Continue
the item to a date uncertain.

DESCRIPTION:
The Applicant proposes to establish a new Community Facility (Place of Worship) within an
existing building in the Sierra Trinity Business Park. The proposal is to operate the Sri Sai
Temple meditation center within a 2,491 square foot tenant space within the Sierra Trinity
Business Park (see Figure 1). Sierra Trinity Business Park is zoned Planned Development and
is subject to the Industrial Park zoning regulations. The City of Dublin Zoning Ordinance
classifies a meditation center as a Community Facility (Place of Worship), and approval of a
Conditional Use Permit by the Planning Commission is required to operate a Community Facility
within the M-P zoning district. Therefore, the Applicant has requested approval of a Conditional
Use Permit to operate a Community Facility (Place of Worship) in the Sierra Trinity Business
Park.

This Conditional Use Permit had been scheduled for a public hearing on March 26, 2013.
However, the Applicant and the property owner have been unable to reach an agreement on the
terms of the lease. Therefore, the Applicant has requested that this item be continued to a date
uncertain. A public hearing notice will be provided when a public hearing for this item is
rescheduled.
