City of Dublin Public Safety Open House

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The City of Dublin will be holding a Public Safety Open House on Saturday, April 13, 2013 from
1 -4 pm. The event will be held at the Alameda County Office of Homeland and Emergency
Services (4985 Broder Blvd.). The Community is encouraged to come out and see all of the
equipment that Dublin Public Safety Staff uses to keep them safe.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The cost of the event has been included in the Fiscal Year 2012 -13 budget.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council receive the report.

DESCRIPTION
For Fiscal Year 2012 -13, Dublin Police Services and the Alameda County Fire Department
committed to hosting a Public Safety Open House for the Dublin community. The event is
scheduled for Saturday, April 13, from 1 -4 pm at the Alameda County Office of Homeland and
Emergency Services (4985 Broder Blvd.). The event location is an easy walk or bike ride from
many of the surrounding neighborhoods. For those who choose to drive, there is ample parking
in the lot along Broder Blvd.
During the event, community members will get a chance to:
• Meet the firefighters and law enforcement personnel that serve the Dublin community.

• Tour a Fire Station (Fire Station 17) and the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency
Services (OHSES)
• Check out some of the many different pieces of equipment that Dublin's Fire and Police
Departments use to keep the community safe.
The City's Neighborhood Resources Office will also host an informational table to promote
involvement in the City's Neighborhood Watch program.
The Public Safety Open House was actively promoted at multiple booths during the recent St.
Patrick's Day Festival. Information will also be made available prior to the event at all City
facilities.
NOTICING REQUIREMENT /PUBLIC OUTREACH:
This event will be advertised on the City's website and through local media outlets.
