Parks and Community Services Commission Applications for 2013-
2014 Term.

FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION: Staff will provide information on the application process for the
2013-2014 Youth Advisory Committee and Student Commissioner to the Parks and Community Services
Commission. Staff will encourage current Committee Members to apply, and ask Committee Members
to encourage other youth to apply.
Applications for these positions are available on the City of Dublin website,www.dublin.ca.gov Shannon
Community Center located at 11600 Shannon Avenue, Dublin, and at the Parks and Community Services
Department located at 100 Civic Plaza, Dublin. Applications will be accepted until 5:00 PM on April 30,
2013.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Youth Advisory Committee receive the report.

The City of Dublin is looking for motivated and enthusiastic young people
with an interest in serving on the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)for the
2013-2014 term. As a YAC Member, you would be charged with the
purpose of providing input on youth services, assisting with implementation
and promotion of youth activities and addressing issues that affect youth in
Dublin. This would be a great opportunity for you to make a difference for
your peers in the communityl
YAC is made up of youth and adult members. These members are
appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council upon
submission of your application. The term of office will be for twelve months
with an opportunity for re-appointment in May 2014.The term commences in
June and terminates in May. The Committee meets once a month (4th
Wednesday of each month). Your dedication in attending and participating in
meetings is important and required.
If you want to make a difference in your community, submit an application by

residents and be enrolled in Middle,Junior High or Senior High school for the 2013-2014 school year.
The term of office Is for one year starting June 1't and ending the following May 31st. The application
deadline is April 30,2013,at 5:00 PM.

Thank you for expressing an interest in serving as the Student
Representative to the City's Parks and Community Services Commission for
the term of July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014.
The purpose of the Commission is to consider and make recommendations
to the City Council and Staff in all matters pertaining to recreation services
for the citizens of Dublin. The Parks and Community Services Commission
is made up of six members appointed by the Mayor and approved by the
City Council. The term of office for the Student Commissioner is for one
year, commencing July 1st and terminating the following June 30th. The
Commission meets the third Monday of each month at 7:00 PM.
Commissioners receive $50.00 for attendance at each meeting.
To be eligible for the position, you must be a Dublin Resident and have
Junior or Senior standing for the upcoming school year.
Please take a few minutes to complete the attached application. The
application deadline is April 30, 2013, at 5:00 PM. Applications may be
