RECOMMENDATION:

DESCRIPTION: On January 21, 2003 the City Council authorized Staff to distribute a
Request for Proposals for the Kolb Park Play Equipment Replacement Project. The proposals sought
information from qualified play equipment representatives on play equipment components to replace the
existing system. After receiving proposals from several play equipment representatives, on April 1, 2003
the City Council authorized Staff to issue a purchase order for play equipment from NorCal Gametime
Leisure Sales Inc.
Subsequent to City Council's approval to procure the materials, Staff worked with the play equipment
representative in the preparation of plans and specifications for bidding purposes. After a nearly three-
week solicitation period, on May 22nd, 2003 the following bids were submitted:
1) G & G Builders $43,000
2) AMAC Construction $44,900
3) Community Playgrounds $59,700
Upon careful evaluation of the bid results, Staff recommends the award of contract to G & G Builders.
G & G Builders provided the lowest bid responsive to the requirements of the bid documents. If contract
is awarded project will commence in late-June and finish by mid-July.
RECOMMENDATION: It is the recommendation of Staff that the City Council adopt the
resolution in Attachment 1 awarding the contract to G & G Builders Incorporated.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
AWARDING CONTRACT NO. 03-10
KOLB PARK PLAY AREA RENOVATION
TO
G & G BUILDERS, INCORPORATED.
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin did, on May 22nd, 2003, publicly open, examine and declare all
sealed bids for doing the work described in the approved Plans and Specifications for Contract No. 03-10,
which Plans and Specifications are hereby expressly referred to for a description of said work and for all
particulars relative to the proceedings under the request for bids; and
WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the City Engineer, who has reviewed the bids to
determine the lowest bid which was responsive to the requirements of the bid documents; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does
hereby award Contract No. 03-10 to the lowest responsible bidder therefor, to wit, G & G Builders,
Incorporated, at a bid of forty-three thousand dollars ($43,000) the particulars of which bid are on file in
the office of the City Engineer.
