RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council recognize John Knox Presbyterian Church for being a Dublin business for the past 50 years. Submitted By Economic Development Director DESCRIPTION: Reviewed By Assistant City Manager On May 1, 2007, the City Council adopted a Business Recognition Program that, among other things, recognizes businesses operating for more than 20 years at a City Council meeting. On May 15, 2013, the City Council recognized businesses (Attachment 1) with the inadvertent omission of John Knox Presbyterian Church which is celebrating their 50 year anniversary. Submitted By Economic Development Director DESCRIPTION: Reviewed By Assistant City Manager On May 1, 2007, the City Council adopted a Business Recognition Program. One component of this Program included the development of a Business Anniversary Program, to recognize the achievements of significant milestone anniversaries in our community. The Anniversary Program acknowledges businesses that have been in Dublin for 10, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, and 50 years. The Anniversary Program calls for businesses operating for more than 20 years to be recognized at a City Council meeting. Businesses that have been in business for 10 years will be receiving a Certificate of Recognition in the mail. For 2013, the City has one business celebrating 50 years, four businesses celebrating 45 years, one business celebrating 40 years, three businesses celebrating 35 years, three businesses celebrating 30 years, 14 businesses celebrating 25 years, 19 businesses celebrating 20 years, Page 1 of 2 ITEM NO. 3.9 and 57 businesses celebrating 10 years in the City of Dublin.
