Call to Order
Chairperson Mack called the meeting to order at 9:33 AM,
Roll Call

Approval of the Minutes
CM GUARIENTI MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE THE APRIL 4, 2013 MINUTES. THE MOTION WAS
SECONDED BY CM KRAUSNICK. THE SENIOR ADVISORY COMMITTEE APPROVED THE MINUTES OF THE
APRIL MEETING BY A VOTE OF 4-0-0.

7.1 2013 DUBLIN COMMUNITY CAR SHOW EVALUATION
Staff provided an overview of the Dublin Car Show event and photos of cars parked along Donlon Way,
and in the Heritage Park Parking Lot. The Senior Center Advisory Committee and the Youth Advisory
Committee, along with Staff held this event to raise funds for the Youth Fee Assistance Program and
provide a community recreational experience.
The event was held at the Dublin Heritage Park and Museums, a venue that provided a nostalgic feel.
CM Guarienti asked if there were enough visitors to the Heritage Center to have it open during the

event. Staff stated the event allowed visitors, who may not normally visit the Museum, an opportunity
to tour the building(s).
CM Krausnick asked if many children participated in the toy car decorating activity. Staff indicated they
had a lot of participants, although a free coloring activity had a larger draw than the toy car decorating,
which used permanent markers for a fee.
There were six event sponsors this year and approximately $1,600 was raised benefiting the Youth Fee
Assistance Program.
Staff thanked the members for volunteering at the event.
7.2 VINTAGE FASHION SHOW AND TEA EVALUATION
The Senior Center Advisory Committee, along with Staff, coordinated the Fashion Show and Tea.
Fashions were provided by former Simplicity Pattern designer Theresa LaQuey. Vintage clothes from the
40's and 50's were modeled by high school students and several volunteers from the Senior Center.
There were 37 attendees.
Food, flowers,teapots and cups were donated for the event, along with items from the Heritage Center.
CM Krausnick commented how nice the event was. CM Ito asked if the event will be held again next
year. Staff has it under consideration.
Other Business
The Foundation reported they have 39 crafters registered for the Holiday Boutique. The Ice Cream Social
is coming up; ice cream will be sold for $2. Preparations are underway to staff the annual fireworks
booth.
CM Mack reported on the Parks and Community Services Commission meeting. The Youth Advisory
Committee gave their annual report to the Commission and CM Mack was very impressed with their
presentation and enthusiasm.

Staff commented on the Volunteer Banquet. She was very happy that Staff members were able to serve
the volunteers this year versus buffet style. The banquet was well attended and successful.
CM Ito commented that with two major events scheduled in a short period of time, it must be difficult
for Staff. Staff commented how outside events can often influence the timing of many other functions.
The fall quarter is also very busy with the Info Fair, Hometown Heroes, Holiday Boutique and the Holiday
DancEscape.
Staff will come back to the Committee to present upcoming planned events.
The Committee engaged in a conversation about Live Healthy Dublin. They offered their observations
and were encouraged to complete the online survey to assist Staff in evaluating the activity.
