Partnership Opportunities Brochure RECOMMENDATION: Receive report. FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None. DESCRIPTION: On an annual basis the Parks and Community Services Department seeks sponsors for the various special events offered by the Department. In the past, sponsors were sought for each individual event with sponsors being contacted by different staff members depending on the event. In order to be more strategic when soliciting sponsors and to create more value for sponsors, a new sponsorship program was introduced in 2009. Staff has developed a new Partnership Opportunities Brochure (Attachment 1) which is distributed to potential sponsors on an annual basis. The brochure identifies three unique levels of sponsorship that can be tailored to meet the individual needs of the sponsor. The sponsorship packages range from $5,000 to $10,000 yielding a total value to the sponsor of$7,500 to $20,500. At the $5,000 level, the sponsor receives recognition at four special events; at the $7,500 level, the sponsor receives recognition at five special events; and at the $10,000 level, the sponsor receives recognition at eight special events. The recognition is described in more detail in the attached Partnership Opportunities Brochure. In addition to recognition at the individual events, the sponsors are also publicly recognized by the City Council at a City Council meeting. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Parks and Community Services Commission receive the report on the Annual Sponsorship Program.
