RECOMMENDATION: Make Appointments
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION: There are committees that require the representation of a member of
the Heritage and Cultural Arts Commission. As per the Bylaws and Rules of Procedure for the
Commission, "The Commission or the Chairperson, upon direction of the Commission, may appoint
several of its members, but less than a quorum, to serve as a Committee".
A summary of the various committees and the current representatives and alternates are shown below.
Art Selection Committee- Dublin Transit Center
An ad-hoc committee whose purpose is to provide the City Council with a recommendation on artwork
for the Dublin Transit Center development.
Representative: Anita Carr
Alternate: Vacant
Art Takes Place Steering Committee
An ad-hoc committee whose purpose is to provide support to the Dublin Fine Arts Foundation on
recommendations for art programs for the Art Takes Place regional project.
Representative: Georgean Vonheeder-Leopold
Alternate: Connie Mack
Selection Committee—Poet Laureate
An ad-hoc committee whose purpose is to assist the Mayor with the selection process for a City Council
appointed Poet Laureate.
Representative: Anita Carr

Selection Committee—Local Historian
An ad-hoc committee whose purpose is to assist the Mayor with the selection process for a City Council
appointed Local Historian.
Representative: -i +i•a,," "Vacant
Three Committees whose goals were completed this past year include the Art Takes Place Steering
Committee, the Poet Laureate Selection Committee and the City Historian Selection Committee. The Art
Takes Place project sponsored by the Dublin Fine Arts Foundation was completed in April 2008. The
Dublin Poet Laureate and City Historian were appointed by the Mayor in May 2008. Therefore it is
recommended that these three committees be deleted from the Heritage and Cultural Arts Commission
Committees list.
RECOMMENDATION: It is the recommendation of Staff that the Heritage and Cultural Arts
Commission review the current committee appointments and make changes and/or appointments to the
committee as deemed necessary.
