DESCRIPTION: Staff'received a request from an elderly resident of San Ramon to
have a bus stop placed on the west side of Village Parkway across from the post office. There is already
an existing stop on the east side ofth_e street. The nearest stop on the west side of the street is at the
comer of Amador Valley Boulevard near the Oil Changer, which can be a long walk for an elderly person.
Staff contacted the County Connection, which has no objection to placing a bus stop at this location. The
County Connection is currently the only bus which serves this portion of Village Parkway.
There is existing red curb in this area for sight distance and for a fire hydrant location (see Location Map,
Exhibit 2). Only one on-street parking space will be removed by this action. Staffhas notified the
businesses that are directly adjacent to this area. The office and retail buildings in this area have on-site
parking available for customers.
Staffrecommends that the City Council conduct a public hearing, deliberate, waive the reading, and
introduce the ordinance.
