DESCRIPTION:
In April 2013, Mr. Rocky Orman contacted the City to inquire about donating redwood trees to
the City and suggested the Heritage Park as his family had a special tie to the park site in the
past. His mother, Pat Orman, was a co-owner of the drug store, Drug City, along with Paul
Moffatt, former Mayor of Dublin, until the early 1980s. Drug City was located in the shopping
center that was eventually demolished to make way for the expansion of the Heritage Park.
Rod and Pat Orman first moved to Dublin on July 8, 1963. Pat was active in the Junior
Women's Club and helped organize its efforts to raise funds to build some of Dublin's first
neighborhood and community parks. The Junior Women’s Club was also responsible for the
“Welcome to Dublin” sign and collected care packages though local donations to send to the
troops in Vietnam. Pat was very active in the local sports community keeping score for Dublin
Little League and active in soccer leagues that were new to Dublin.
