RECOMMENDATION: ~ Determine City's appointment and direct Staff to
request confirmation by Alameda County Board of
Supervisors.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION: Councilmember Hegarty has notified the City that
he will be unable to continue to serve in his capacity as a member of the
Alameda County Housing Authority.
The Alameda County Housing Authority meets on the second Wednesday of each
month at 8:00 a.m. , in Hayward and the meetings generally last about one to
one and one half hours. The appointment will be for a 4 year term,
beginning in January, 1990.
The procedure for this appointment is that the City Council makes a
nomination and forwards this request to the Board of Supervisors. The
Board of Supervisors considers the City's request and then makes the actual
appointment. It is not absolutely necessary that the appointee be a
Councilmember.
Staff recommends that the Council determine who will serve in this capacity
and direct Staff to forward the information to the Alameda County Board of
Supervisors.
