SUBJECT: Emerald Glen Recreation and Aquatic Complex Public Art
Selection Committee

RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends Commission select one Commissioner and one
alternate to serve on the Public Art Selection Committee
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION: On July 16, 2013 the City Council approved the public art process
for the Emerald Glen Recreation and Aquatic Complex. The process approved by City Council includes a
Public Art Selection Committee with the following makeup:
1) Heritage and Cultural Arts Commissioner
1) Parks and Community Services Commissioner
1) Public Artist (invitational based on scope of project)
1) Art Educator from a Dublin school
1) Dublin Fine Arts Foundation Board Member
1) Community Member — Green Gator Swim Team Representative
3) Community Members at Large
Heritage and Cultural Arts Manager — Facilitator(Non-Voting)
Parks and Facilities Development Manager — Technical Advisory (Non-Voting)
Architect of Record — Designer(Non-Voting)
Staff anticipates the review panels will be held in mid-December 2013 or early January 2014.
At this time, Staff is seeking recommendation of a Heritage and Cultural Arts Commissioner to serve on
the Public Art Selection Committee, as well as an alternate in the event the selected member is not
available.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends Commission select one Commissioner and one
alternate to serve on the Public Art Selection Committee.
