Fifty private organizations and government agencies were represented, including three companies that sponsored the event for$500 each. Free services available to the seniors were flu shots, chair massages, blood pressure checks, pulse, temperature monitoring, oxygen levels in the blood, balance testing, bone density scans, and ear wax checks. BJ's Restaurant donated and served 200 light lunches at noon. Fifty-three prizes were raffled off throughout the day. Staff estimated approximately 425 Tri-Valley seniors and their families were in attendance. Approximately 100 evaluations were submitted which entered guests into a free raffle drawing. Twenty people indicated it was their first time visiting the Senior Center; of which 14 stated they planned to return. Of the people who had previously visited, 69% planned to return to the Senior Center. Twenty guests learned about the Information Fair from the Dublin Senior Center flyers. The second most popular promotional method was word of mouth from a friend, relative or an apartment manager. Twelve guests indicated that they read about the Info Fair through the newspaper, such as the Tri Valley Herald or Valley Times. Five others learned about the Info Fair via online sources such as email, or Dublin Patch or Tri Valley News. A total of 22 different types of publicity were mentioned on the survey. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the Senior Center Advisory Committee receive the report.
