DESCRIPTION:
At the meeting of September-7,1999 the City Council authorized Staff to solicit bids for the Cabling
Project as part of the Civic Center Renovation/Expansion Project.
The cabling project Schedule corresponds to the two phases of the Civic Center Renovatio~ and
Expansion Project. During Phase 1; the cabling contractor will install two data and two voice cables to
thirty (30) office and cubicle locations on the Civic Center 1't and 2"a floors. During Phase 2, the cabling
contractor will install two dam and two voic_e cables to thirty six (36) locations in Police Services and
renovated sections of the City Hall side of the Civic Center.
As the distance from the expansion space to the existing main computer room exceeds the maximum
allowible distance for Ethernet, the contractor will install a new data closet on the north end of the City
Hall side of the Civic Center. The new closet will be tied into the existing network via a fiber optic cable
