HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 141-95 ISTEA-BikePathRESOLUTION NO. 141 - 95 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN SUPPORTING ALAMEDA COUNTY' S APPLICATION FOR ISTEA FUNDING BICYCLE PATH ALONG NORTH SIDE OF DUBLIN BOULEVARD TASSAJARA CREEK TO EAST DUBLIN BART STATION WHEREAS, the United States Congress enacted the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991, which is intended to provide over $200 million in federal dollars over a six year period as matching funds to local, state, and federal agencies and nonprofit entities for transportation enhancement activities; and WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation has established the procedures and criteria for reviewing proposals and is required to submit to the California Transportation Commission a list of recommended projects from which the recipients will be selected; and WHEREAS, said procedures and criteria established by the California Department of Transportation requires a resolution certifying the approval of the application by the applicant' s governing body before submission of said application to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and the State of California; and WHEREAS, Alameda County is applying for ISTEA funding to construct a bicycle path along Dublin Boulevard from Tassajara Creek to the East Dublin BART Station; and WHEREAS, the City of Dublin is not required to contribute financially to the construction of this project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin supports Alameda County' s application for ISTEA funding for a bicycle path along the north side of Dublin Boulevard from Tassajara Creek to the East Dublin BART Station under the condition that the City is not required to contribute to the construction cost. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 281h day of November, 1995.
