HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 086-94 Art@BARTStationsRESOLUTION NO. 86 -94 A RESOLLTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF~HE CITY OF DUBLIN SUPPORTING THE PLACEMENT OF PUBLIC ART AT THE DUBLIN/PLEASANTON AND LIVERMORE BART STATIONS WHEREAS, the Tri-Valley community will be served by a new BART station in 1995; and WHEREAS, the cities of the Tri-Valley encourage the enhancement of the public environment for its residents and visitors; and WHEREAS, the BART stations will be a public structure of visual prominence and continuous activity; and WHEREAS, many of the existing BART stations have permanent public art; and WHEREAS, the Tri-Valley cities are consideration in the station aesthetics; and entitled to equal WHEREAS, the citizens would like the BART station reflect the pride they feel for their community and their the cultural arts. to visually support of NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does hereby urge the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Rapid Transit District to approve a grant of 2% of the project costs for the provision of art in the Tri-Valley stations.
