HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-19-2014 Adopted Min Sp Mtg ��c•`t'% MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL to 'ot OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN v�fii s 40 SPECIAL MEETING — MARCH 19. 2014 A special meeting of the Dublin City Council was held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, in the City Council Chambers of the Dublin Civic Center. The meeting was called to order at 6:06 p.m., by Mayor Sbranti. 1. Roll Call & Pledge of Alllegiance PRESENT: Councilmembers Biddle, Gupta, Haubert, and Mayor Sbranti ABSENT: Cm. Hart The pledge of allegiance to the flag was recited by the City Council, Staff and those present. 2. Public Comments 6:06 p.m. No comments were made by any member of the public at this time. 3. Preliminary FY 2014-15 and FY 2015-16 Budget, And Updated Five-Year General Fund Forecast 6:07 p.m. Cm. Hart arrived at 7:00 p.m. By consensus, the City Council requested Staff take a look at cost containment in regard to contracts with Police, Fire, MCE, and also consider Staff reorganization. On motion of Cm. Gupta, seconded by Vm. Biddle and by unanimous vote, the City Council approved: • Designation of General Fund set aside for: Cemetery Expansion and Renovation - $1.6 mil in current yr; $2.1 mil in 14-15; Emerald Glen Aquatic Center- $1.5 mil in current yr; Shannon Center Parking lot Improvement - $775,000 in current yr; • Changes to the preliminary 2014-15 and 2015-16 budget in its current form; Staff research of possible new revenue streams. DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL MINUTES ... 1 VOLUME 33 SPECIAL MEETING MARCH 19, 2014 Additions to the budget: Vm. Biddle requested that Staff evaluate additional hours (2 hours) to the Library. Cm. Hart formally requested $25,000 for a defibrillator program with Staff to bring back a formal program at a later date. On motion of Mayor Sbranti, seconded by Cm. Hart, and by unanimous vote, the City Council directed Staff to bring back a report on utilizing $1 million of money designated for the Downtown 4. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the City Council, the meeting was adjourned at 8:33 p.m. in memory of Staff Sgt. Sean Diamond and our fallen troops.
