the annual Firefighter's Pancake Breakfast will be held at Fire Station 16 featuring green pancakes and
the annual Dublin Lions Club Parade will follow. The Shamrock SK Fun Run and Walk will start Sunday,
March 16 at 8:30 AM. Many of the popular events and food booths will return this year and the
entertainment will include a diverse line-up of Celtic music and dance. Staff will host a Live Healthy
Dublin booth and pass out pedometers to all participants registered for the Live Healthy Dublin "Step 2
It Challenge." Pedometers will also be available at the start of the Shamrock 5K Fun Run and Walk.
Senior Center Advisory Committee Members were offered the opportunity to volunteer at the Festival.
CM Bonetti expressed interest in volunteering since the Dublin Senior Foundation voted not to volunteer
this year.
i
CM Guarienti suggested the post-race area at the end of the route be clearly marked for the Fun Run
participants to easily find. Staff intends to have more signage and volunteers available to direct runners.
The post-race area will be held in the same location this year as last year.
7.2 UPDATE ON SENIOR CENTER MARQUEE
Staff provided preliminary information on the purchasing of an electronic marquee and the feasibility to
install it on Amador Valley Boulevard. On March 5, Staff met with Arrow Sign Company to gather
conceptual plans and designs of the marquee and structure. Two concepts were reviewed. As a point
of reference, the marquee is the same size as the Dublin High School marquee. One type of marquee is
multi-color, which can display both messages and color 'photo images. Another marquee is
monochromatic, displaying only messages in one color.
i
CM Guarienti asked who would fund the project. Staff indicated they are researching the details before
seeking funding. CM Bonetti noted the Dublin Senior Foundation may be interested in partial funding of
the project.
i
CM Guarienti preferred the colorful marquee option.
Staff will make a presentation to the Dublin Senior Foundation once the research is completed.
Other Business
The Senior Center Advisory Committee Members were informed of the Dublin Community Car Show to
be held on May 3 at the Heritage Park and Museums. Two Youth Advisory Committee Members were
appointed to serve on the Community Car Show Subcommittee. Senior Center Advisory Committee
Members Diane Bonetti and Faye Guarienti volunteered to serve on the Community Car Show
Subcommittee and will be invited to the next planning meeting once scheduled. i
i
Staff passed out a copy of the Heritage Park and Museums yearly activity calendar for future reference.

well. The Dublin Senior Foundation announced they will be volunteering at the Dublin Pride Breakfast
this year.
CM Ito suggested offering a series of workshops to attract younger seniors, especially those who are
retiring or have recently retired. She suggested offering financial workshops, and information on
recreation and volunteer opportunities at the Dublin Senior Center.
CM Ito asked if Staff is looking for sponsorship for the monthly Special Luncheons to offset the expenses
not covered by fees. Staff stated the Dublin Senior Center seeks to identify businesses who may want to
be a sponsor but not specifically for the special luncheon. Some businesses may be open to sponsoring
a portion of the event, such as paying for the entertainment, but Staff has not found any businesses to
underwrite the cost of an entire event.
The Senior Center Advisory Committee Members engaged in a discussion about how to recognize
individual volunteers in different ways. Staff currently recognizes volunteers annually at the Dublin
Senior Center Volunteer Luncheon.
Adlournment—10:46 AM.
