MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN `- REGULAR MEETING —JUNE 3, 2014 A regular meeting of the Dublin City Council was held on, Tuesday, June 3, 2014, in the City Council Chambers of the Dublin Civic Center. The meeting was called to order at 5:40 p.m., by Mayor Sbranti. ROLL CALL PRESENT: Councilmembers Biddle, Gupta, Hart, Haubert, and Mayor Sbranti ABSENT: None • PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The pledge of allegiance to the flag was recited by the City Council, Staff and those present. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Report on the Year-End Results for the 4 R's Challenge 5:40 p.m. 3.1 The City Council recognized Fallon Middle School, Dublin Elementary, Frederiksen Elementary and Dougherty Elementary School for their recycling efforts. Recognition of Achievement: Kolb Elementary School, 2014 Pollution Solution Golden Sneaker Contest 5:45 p.m. 3.2 The City Council presented the certificate of recognition to Kolb Elementary School. Recognition of Achievement: Dublin High School Robotics and Engineering Academy Students, 2014 Robotics VEX World Championship and 2014 Project Lead the Way Introduction to Engineering Design East Bay Regional Challenge 5:53 p.m. 3.4 The City Council presented the certificates of recognition to the Dublin High School Robotics and Engineering Academy Students. Appointments to Youth Advisory Committee and Student Representative to Parks and Community Services Commission 6:00 p.m. 3.5 On motion of Mayor Sbranti, seconded by Cm. Hart and by unanimous vote, the City Council confirmed the Mayor's appointments to the Youth Advisory Committee and the Student Representative to the Parks and Community Services Commission for the 2014 —2015 terms. Biddle and by unanimous vote, the City Council adopted RESOLUTION NO. 88 - 14 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN ORDERING THE SUBMISSION TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN AN ORDINANCE TITLED THE "LET DUBLIN DECIDE INITIATIVE" AT THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY NOVEMBER 4, 2014 AND PROVIDING FOR SUBMISSION OF BALLOT ARGUMENTS AND REBUTTALS and, additionally, agreed to formally oppose the measure; and authorized Mayor Sbranti and Cm. Gupta to draft appropriate ballot language in opposition of the measure, and bring it back to the entire City Council for approval.
