DESCRIPTION: On July 1, 2014, Open Heart Kitchen (OHK) began providing a
congregate lunch meal program at the Dublin Senior Center Shamrock Cafe. Prior to July 1, lunch service
was provided by Spectrum Community Services.
In cooperation with the Area Agency on Aging of Alameda County and the City of Dublin, Open Heart
Kitchen will prepare lunch meals offsite and deliver the meals to the Dublin Senior Center. The meals
will be served by OHK staff and volunteers. Former Senior Center Lunch Volunteers are invited. to
register with OHK to be able to continue their lunchtime volunteer service at the Senior Center. Onsite
meals will be served Monday through Friday, between 11:30 AM and 12:00 PM., except on special
luncheon days, which is offered on the second Thursday of the month. Take-out lunch is available as an
option for patrons who arrive between 12:00 PM and 12:15 PM. Beverage and soup service are included
during onsite dining.
Open Heart Kitchen's daily menu consists of a cup of soup, mixed salad, entree, beverage, and dessert.
The monthly menu is available at the Senior Center front desk or online at
http://www.dublin.ca.gov/index.aspx?NID=375. Patrons must reserve a meal(s) by phone or in-person
no later than 1:00 PM at least one business day in advance. For Monday meals, reservations are
requested by 1:00 PM on Friday.
The cost for a meal is a $3.00 suggested donation. For convenience, a ten-meal punch card is available
for$30. Seniors of all ages are welcome to have lunch at the Senior Center Shamrock Cafe.
