The PG&E rebate is based on the actual cost of the material purchase for existing intersections; therefore,
$108,839.48 of the $110,665.92 is eligible for rebate. The balance of the purchase, $1,826.44, is for spare
modules which cannot be included in the rebate amount; this cost will be recovered through future energy
savings along with the installation cost.
DESCRIPTION: On November 21, 2000, the City Council authorized Staff to
advertise for bids for the purchase of green LED traffic signal modules. As noted in the Financial
Statement above, the bulk of the cost of the mgdules will be recovered through a rebate t~om PG&E.
The low bid received, $110,665.92, is within the funds approved for the purchase. 'The modules proposed
to be supplied meet the City's specification and are tiom the same manufacturer as the red LED modules
that were installed two years ago.
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution awarding the purchase order to Synchronex,
Inc.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
AWARDING PURCHASE ORDER FOR
GREEN LED TRAFFIC SIGNAL MODULES
TO SYNCHRONEX, INC.
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin did, on December 21, 2000, publicly open, examine, and
declare all sealed bids for the material purchase described in the approved Specifications for Project 00-17,
Green LED Traffic Signal Modules, authorized by the City Council on November 21, 2000, which
Specifications are hereby expressly referred to for a description of said work and for all particulars relative
to the proceedings under the request for bids; and
WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the City Engineer, who has recommended that the
bid hereinafter mentioned is the lowest and best bid for doing said work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does
hereby award the purchase order under City of Dublin Project 00-17 to the lowest responsible bidder
therefor, to wit Synchronex, Inc., with a bid of One Hundred Ten Thousand Six Hundred Sixty Five
Dollars and Ninety Two Cents ($110,665.92), the particulars of which bid are on file in the Office of the
City Engineer.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of January, 2001.
