Foss, City Manager L4_r SUBJECT: Appointment of Public Art Selection Committee Members at Large Prepared by Ann Mottola, Heritage and Cultural Arts Manager EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: On September 2, 2014, the City Council approved the composition of the Fallon Sports Park Public Art Selection Committee and directed Staff to advertise for the two Community-Member- At-Large positions. There were five applications were received by the deadline. The City Council will consider approval of the Mayor's appointment of Claudia McCormick and Leonie Meima to serve on the Fallon Sports Park Public Art Selection Committee. FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council confirm the Mayor's appointment of Leonie Meima and Claudia McCormick to serve on the Fallon Sports Park Public Art Selection Committee. I C Submi ed B Reviewed By Parks and Community Se ices Director Assistant City Manager DESCRIPTION: On September 2, 2014, the City Council approved the composition of the Fallon Sports Park Public Art Selection Committee to include: 1 - Heritage and Cultural Arts Commissioner 1 - Parks and Community Services Commissioner 1 - Senior Center Advisory Committee Member 1 - Youth Advisory Committee Member 1 - Public Artist 1 -Art Educator from a Dublin school 1 - Dublin Fine Arts Foundation Board Member Page 1 of 2 ITEM NO. 3.5 1 - Community Member— Dublin Unified Soccer League 1 - Community Member— Dublin Little League 2 - Community Members at Large Heritage and Cultural Arts Manager— Facilitator(Non-Voting) Parks and Facilities Development Coordinator— Technical Advisory(Non-Voting) Architect of Record— Designer(Non-Voting) There was a recruitment conducted for the two Community-Members-at-Large positions to serve on the Public Art Selection Committee. There were five applications received by the October 3, 2014 deadline. The Mayor is recommending the appointment of Leonie Meima and Claudia McCormick to serve on the Public Art Selection Committee. The other positions are being appointed by the Commissions, Advisory Committees and related organizations with representation on the Public Art Selection Committee. The Committee will meet during November to select the preferred artwork for recommendation to the Heritage and Cultural Arts Commission, the Parks and Community Services Commission and the City Council. NOTICING REQUIREMENTS/PUBLIC OUTREACH: A copy of the Staff Report was distributed to Leonie Meima and Claudia McCormick. ATTACHMENTS: 1.
