SUBJECT: Presentation by Public Works Department of the Status of Public
Works Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Projects
Report Prepared by: Lee S. Thompson, Public Works Director
ATTACHMENTS: The Public Works Director will make a PowerPoint presentation at
the meeting as part of the monthly departmental information
program
RECOMMENDATION: Receive and accept the presentation and provide any comments
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Project costs have been approved in the Fiscal Year 2003-2004
Capital Improvement Program Budget
DESCRIPTION: - The Public Works Department is responsible for a number of CIP
projects in Fiscal Year 2003-2004. Seven capital projects have recently been completed in the current
fiscal year, and nine projects are currently under construction. These projects include:
Completed projects:
• I-580/Tassajara Road Interchange Improvement
• Downtown Improvement Implementation, Phase 1
• Village Parkway/Lewis Avenue Intersection Improvements
• Village Parkway Median Landscaping
• Front Counter Upgrade
• Sidewalk Reconstruction Underneath I-680 and Artwork Lighting
• Annual Slurry Seal Program
Projects under construction:
• Dublin Boulevard Improvements — Village Parkway to Sierra Court
• Alamo Creek Bike Path — Amador Valley Boulevard to North City Limits
• I-580/San Ramon Road Interchange Improvements
• Traffic Signal Upgrade — Village Parkway at Amador Valley Boulevard
• Traffic Signal — Central Parkway at Tassajara Creek

· Downtown Traffic Signal Equipment Replacement
· ADA Building Conformance Upgrade
· Tassajara Creek Trail Improvements - Dublin Boulevard to Gleason Drive
In addition, Staffhas begun engineering work on several freeway interchange and local street
improvement projects, as well as community improvements, as indicated below:

· DoWntown Improvement Implementation, Phase 2, which includes:
i) Monument at Dublin Boulevard and Village Parkway
ii) Village Parkway Sidewalk Widening and Lighting between Dublin Boulevard and
Amador Valley BoUlevard

Staff will provide the City council with an update of the abovementioned projects, with emphasis on
recently completed and current projects under construction.
Staff recommends that the City Council receive and accept the presentation and provide any comments.
