IUZN SENIOR CENTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE
MEETING DATE: SEPTEMBER 4, 2014
SUBJECT: Development of the Dublin Senior Center Code of Conduct Policy
Report Prepared by Anna Hudson, Recreation Coordinator
ATTACHMENTS: Draft Dublin Senior Center Code of Conduct Policy
RECOMMENDATION: Receive report and provide feedback
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION:
At the June Senior Advisory Committee Meeting, Staff first proposed establishing a Code of Conduct
Policy to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all who utilize the Dublin Senior Center. The Code
of Conduct policies from other senior center facilities were reviewed and considered during
development of the draft Dublin Senior Center Code of Conduct Policy.
The Senior Center Advisory Committee reviewed the draft Policy in August and based on feedback from
the Advisory Committee, Staff developed a final draft of the Dublin Senior Center Code of Conduct Policy
for consideration. This Policy provides that Senior Center patrons, volunteers and Staff should exhibit
mutual respect, be cognizant of their behavior, and be responsible for their actions while at the Senior
Center. The Code of Conduct Policy will enable Staff to use the Policy as a point of reference in
addressing undesirable behavior exhibited by individuals who frequent the Senior Center.
Staff recommends the Dublin Senior Center Code of Conduct Policy be displayed in the lounge. Staff
also recommends translating the Policy into other languages as needed and having it available at the
front desk. Translated copies may be requested as necessary. Additional copies of the Policy will be
made available by request.
