A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
ADOPTING A POLICY FOR RECYCLING OF OFFICE PAPER
GENERATED BY CITY BUSINESS
WHEREAS, the State of California has imposed mandates requiring a
reduction in the amount of waste disposed of in our landfills; and
WHEREAS, the State Law requires a reduction by 50% by the year
2000; and
WHEREAS, Livermore-Dublin Disposal (LDD) has formulated
demonstration project to collect recyclable office paper; and
a
WHEREAS, LDD is providing the service to the City of Dublin at no
cost; and
WHEREAS, it is important for all employees to be conscious of the
need to source separate waste between recyclable and non-recyclable
materials; and
WHEREAS, the City's recycling program will serve as a model for
other businesses to consider;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby
supports the establishment of an office paper recycling program at the
Civic Center and Shannon Center.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager shall be directed to
initiate all administrative procedures necessary to improve upon the
success of the program.
