A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN

APPROVING THE HERITAGE CENTER USAGE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN THE CITY OF DUBLIN AND PARKS RESERVE FORCES TRAINING AREA
WHEREAS, on October 19, 2010, the City Council directed Staff to secure a donation of
the historical artifacts from the former history museum at Camp Parks and to pursue the concept
of a permanent space for the artifacts at the future community park in Dublin Crossing; and
WHEREAS, on August 15, 2011, the City received approval from the U.S. Army for a
permanent loan of the collection to the City; and
WHEREAS, Parks Reserve Forces Training Area (Parks RFTA), recently constructed a
Visitor Control Center and offered space to the City for exhibition of the collection; and
WHEREAS, on December 17,. 2013, the City Council directed Staff to pursue a
partnership with Parks RFTA to create a Military Heritage Center and to develop a Memorandum
of Understanding with Parks RFTA for City Council consideration; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and Lt. Colonel from Parks RFTA developed a
Memorandum of Understanding allowing the City to begin design and construction documents for
the exhibit space.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin
approves the Memorandum of Understanding between the City and Parks RFTA for usage of the
Heritage. Center at the Visitors Control Center, and authorizes the City Manager to execute the
Memorandum of Understanding.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of December, 2014, by the following
vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Biddle, Gupta, Hart, Haubert, and Mayor Sbranti
