The Honorable David Haubert and Councilmembers
City of Dublin

Dear Mayor Haubert and Councilmembers:
Subject: MonaLisa Ballesteros
I am writing to personally commend and vouch for MonaLisa Ballesteros' character.
It is with great pleasure that I offer this character reference letter for MonaLisa
Ballesteros. I have known her for more than sixteen years.
I first met her while she was employed in the City Clerks office with the City of
Phoenix. At the time I was assigned to the Mayor's Security Detail from the Police
Department. I had numerous occasions to observe her at work dealing with the
public and City Officials. She was always professional and pleasant. In my contacts
with her, I recognized her passion for helping people and serving the public.
She later developed a strong interest in police work and applied to the Phoenix
Police Department. She easily passed a rigorous background investigation and was
a strong candidate for assignment to the Police Academy.
Fate brought her to your fine City and I am not surprised to learn that she has
continued serving her fellow citizens in a leadership capacity.
MonaLisa is a trustworthy, honest and loyal person who deserves strong
consideration for the position of councilwoman.
Please feel free to contact me at 602-509-7819 or gi1.s( q.com

Dear Mayor Haubert,Vice Mayor Gupta, and Councilmembers:
I am writing you this evening to strongly consider Ms. Mona Lisa Ballesteros for the vacant
Dublin City Council position.
For the past 9 1/2 years, I have had the pleasure of working with Ms.Ballesteros in several roles at
Dublin San Ramon Services District; two of which, were her Administrative
Assistant/Technician roles at the front desk and in the Human Resources Division. Ms.
Ballesteros has been a consummate professional, has honored the code of confidentiality (when
appropriate), and has been incredibly analytical in her thinking since the day I met her. There
has never been a time where I've had to question Ms. Ballesteros' ability to uphold the DSRSD
Employee Code of Ethics.
In addition to working with Ms. Ballesteros in a human resource capacity, she has participated
with consultants, other local agencies, and District staff as a member of numerous District
workgroups. Currently, I am serving along with her and other departmental staff on the
District's Electronic Content Management System project, and would consider her one of our
more technically savvy team members. Her technical and communication skills have been a
great asset to our team.
Ms. Ballesteros is also very active in the Dublin community as she has been involved with
Dublin Partners in Education (DPIE) for a number of years; as well as, serving as a
Commissioner for the Dublin Parks and Community Services Commission.
Ms.Ballesteros is a leader and the Dublin City Council would be very fortunate to have her serve
as a trusted member of the community. I believe she is, and always will be,that person who will
seek to make the community(her community) great.
Thank you for your consideration of Mona Lisa Ballesteros for Dublin City Council.
Regards,
Christie L.Lawson

Mayor Haubert and Council Members,
I am Karen Vaden, a resident of Dublin for over 30 years and I am emailing you today to
encourage you to appoint Mona Lisa Ballesteros to the vacant seat on City of Dublin's
city council.
I have worked with Mona Lisa at Dublin San Ramon Services District (the District) for
over 9 years, she is a motivated and dedicated worker and has always worked to
improve herself and to advance at the District. Mona Lisa looks for process
improvements and is sought out by other employees for her input on making process
improvements. She is well respected at the District as a hard worker and is dedicated
to do her best for the District and for the community.
As long as I have known Mona Lisa she has always had the passion and desire to
improve the community in which we live. As many residents will talk and complain,
Mona Lisa takes action and gets involved. She will take action and will work to improve
the City of Dublin. She does not have any hidden agendas, above all else she wants the
best for our community. Mona Lisa is a true leader, and as Benjamin Franklin once said
"A true leader is one who is humble enough to admit their mistakes when presented
better information or after full consideration is willing to change opinion, even on
important subjects."
I encourage you to give Mona Lisa your full consideration when making your decision
for the appointment to city council.
Sincerely,
Karen Vaden

Subject: In support of Lynna Do
Dear City Clerk Caroline Soto,
My partner and I would prefer to be at the Council meeting this evening to speak with the Council in person,
and to express our support of Lynna Do for City Councilmember, unfortunately we work on the Peninsula, and
our commute from Mountain View/Sunnyvale to Dublin is a rough one!As a result we won't make it to the
Council meeting, so we will have to express our support in an email.
Some points about Lynna Do for your consideration:
1. Lynna is passionate about serving her community and does so through the Community Programs
Council and the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay.
2. She is a proud resident of the City of Dublin and uses every opportunity to share her pride in the city.
3. Lynna volunteers her time, fundraising efforts, and athleticism through multiple community-based and
charitable running events each year, including the CPOA's Run to Remember.
4. As an Asian American and a Lesbian, Lynna can add a unique perspective and enhanced community
representation to the Dublin City Council.
Finally, we would like to add that Lynna is committed to her public service and she truly enjoys the work she
does in support of her community. She would be an excellent addition to our City Council.
Respectfully-

Dear Mayor Haubert and Council Members,
Please consider the following as a request for you to appoint Mona Lisa to the Dublin
City Council. I strongly believe that Mona will be a positive attribute to the committee
as she has already made such a positive impact within her town. Mona has a natural
altruistic attitude to not only service those in need but to get others involved for the
root of the cause. The enthusiasm that Mona portrays for community involvement,
passion of equality, and family values is admirable and contagious. Her understanding of
social media, current events, and other peoples innate needs make for the perfect
candidate to represent such a vision-oriented town as Dublin.
Mona Lisa has also demonstrated experience working in a public environment as in her
current position. She truly understands our Dublin community and will bring refreshing
ideas and experience to the Council.
Thank you for your time and attention.
Sincerely,
