DESCRIPTION: The City of Dublin Parks & Community Services Department is
inviting the public to participate in a community-wide event to motivate, educate, and empower
residents to achieve optimal health through a customized wellness challenge.
The "ACTIV-8 Challenge" is a great way to team up with co-workers, family, or friends to get active, lose
weight, eat better, and live a healthier lifestyle. The cost is just $10 per participant.
Participants will receive a free t-shirt; weekly motivational emails; unlimited access to the online
resource center, which provides video and workout plans, activity, nutrition, and recipe tips; and a
personalized online tracking page and journal. The "ACTIV-8 Challenge" will run from March 15 through
May 9. Here's how it works:
• Gather a team of 2-10 people and choose a team name. The Team Captain must register the
team at www.livehealthvdublin.com.
• Enter Group Registration ID: LHDUBLIN
• Pick up your free t-shirt during the St. Patrick's Day Festiyal on March 14 and 15.
• Set up your personal profile online to record your fitness goals.
The Team Captain will communicate with teammates weekly to keep everyone motivated and inform
team members of fitness and wellness activities offered in the community.
Teams will compete against teams of like-size (i.e., teams of 2-3, 4-6, 7-10). This program will take the
spirit of team work, add a measure of friendly competition, and use the power of the internet to
encourage people to reach their optimal fitness level and to pursue healthier lifestyles.
This is the third year the City of Dublin has offered a community health and wellness challenge. In 2013
the City offered a ten-week wellness challenge where participants recorded their fitness activities; and
in 2014 a ten-week "Step 2 It" Challenge in which participants recorded their steps.
