FINANCIAL STATEMENT: No cost associated with this action. DESCRIPTION: The original alignment of Dougherty Road passed through what is now the Unocal site at the northwest comer of Dublin Boulevard and Dougherty Road, forming a "T" intersection with the old State Highway 50. Dougherty Road was realigned to its present location when 1- 580 was constructed. The County subsequently abandoned the public rights to the old street fight-of-way, reserving an easement for any utilities that may have been in the old right of way. Presumably, all of the utilities were removed and the Unocal station was constructed over the reservation area. Unocal now wants to demolish the existing buildings and construct an upgraded facility and wants the easement reserve to be removed from the public record. The property owner's representative has contacted all the utility companies, as well as the City, to ~xecute a quitclaim which will, after recording, remove the reservation from the parcel title record. The City of Dublin does not have any storm drain facilities within the site and has no future need to have any storm drain facilities across the site. This easement was created with the abandonment of Dougherty Road to protect any existing utilities. Based on our research, 2M2 believes that all utilities have been removed from the old Dougherty Road right-of-way. With this information 2M2 is now pursuing the Quit Claim of this easement by: City of Dublin, Dublin San Ramon Services District, P G & E and Pacific Bell.
