Minimal cost of No-U-Turn sign removal for eastbound
traffic. The No-U-Turn sign for westbound traffic is
already in place.
DESCRIPTION:
No-U-Turn signs have been posted on Dublin Boulevard at Clark Avenue for
several years. Dublin Boulevard has not been wide enough to permit U-Turns
for either westbound or eastbound traffic at this intersection.
The City's contractor has substantially completed the widening of the
north side of Dublin Boulevard west of Clark Avenue. One of the results of
this project is that Dublin Boulevard is now wide enough on that side to
permit eastbound traffic to make a U-turn at the Clark Avenue intersection)
however~ there is still not sufficient width on the south side of the street
to permit westbound traffic to make a U-turn.
It has come to Staff's attention that an ordinance was never adopted to
prohibit U-Turns at this intersection) this action will prohibit U-Turns for
the westbound direction only. Staff recommends that the City Council conduct
a public hearing, waive the reading~ and adopt the ordinance on an urgency
basis.
