DESCRIPTION:
Since 2012, the City of Dublin has developed and hosted a variety of interactive business
seminars to support business owners. In an effort to provide valuable, high-quality programming
that addresses the needs of new and growing local businesses, the City of Dublin is joining the
Dublin Chamber of Commerce, the cities of Pleasanton and Livermore and their respective
Chambers of Commerce, and the San Francisco office of the Small Business Administration
(SBA) to host the Tri-Valley Small Business Series from May to November 2015.
The series is designed to connect the region's small businesses with local resources and to
celebrate the important role that small business plays in the region. According to the SBA, more
than half of Americans either own or work for a small business. Additionally, they create
approximately two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year.

The series will kick off with a proclamation of "Small Business Week" by each City Council
during National Small Business Week, designated from May 4-8, 2015, to recognize the
contributions of America's entrepreneurs and small business owners.
During the Tri-Valley Small Business Series, each of the three cities and their partner Chamber
of Commerce will host an event that is open to all small businesses in the Tri-Valley. The
schedule of events includes:
• A Small Business Resource Fair in May, hosted by the City of Livermore;
• A Tech Talk event in July, hosted by the City of Pleasanton; and
• A Meet the Lenders event in October, hosted by the City of Dublin.
The series will conclude in November with promotion of "Small Business Saturday" in each of
the Tri-Valley cities, in support of local small businesses during the busiest shopping season of
the year.
